September 16 Wow, has it really been this long?I can't believe I haven't been here in almost two months. What has been going on? Well, I started, wait for it, Tap class. I love it and can't believe it but I'm going to have a dance at the recital. There are only three of us in class and we are dancing to "Rich Girl" by Gwen Stefani.
Fall semester has started. I am taking two classes twice a week at the school. Beau is watching the girls in the morning while I go.
Darby has started walking. She's also saying around 5 or 6 words. Dahlia is back in dance and as silly as ever. July 21 New PicturesI put up new photo albums. I still have more pics to add but I have to resize and crop them so it might be a few more days before I get that done.
One album is pictures that Beau has taken for Photography class. One is pics of Dahlia for her recital. The other is just pics of the girls. Click on the
I only have so much space for pictures so I'll also email them all to y'all. June 28 Darby is on the moveYest. Darby took her first step. She took a step for everyone and had such a big grin each time. She's so proud of herself.
It's so funny how much little things mean to kids. Today I hardboiled two eggs and had Dahlia color a face on one to make Humpty Dumpty. I opened the other for her to eat. She has never had any real desire to eat eggs but she ate it right up and keeps talking about opening the other so she can eat it. Who knows how long she will continue asking me to cook her a "Humpty Dumpty" egg? Whatever works, right? June 23 Darby has learned a new wordI'm not sure if it's technically a word or not but she has started saying a mix between uh oh and uh uh. She shakes her head when she does it so I thought it was uh uh but she also says it when she drops something. She also recently learned how to "give five" and has me hold out both my hands while she slaps them. She is just about the cutest thing ever. She loves to dance and takes it very seriously. She can majorly rock out. She wasn't paying any attention to our stairs so I hadn't put the gate up yet. Well, one day I'm upstairs and I turn the corner and she is on the third stair from the top. I started putting up the gate but a couple of days ago, I forgot. Beau and I were talking when I realized I didn't see her. I head up the stairs and she is completely up them and playing in the room. Needless to say, the gate is always up now. I stood behind her today while she went up them and she scooted up them so fast. She didn't even look back once. Just took right off. In other news, Dahlia has already stated that she is sick of school. It's too much work. She says this as she is coloring a picture. Alright if this is so hard and boring, what is going to happen when she has to spend hours learning penmanship or some other boring thing? Haha, what a ding dong! Oh yeah, the other day, I called her a ding dong. She looked at me and said, "ding dong? I thought I was an oreo cookie." I have no idea where that came from but it was so funny. June 07 School starts this weekI'm taking two classes this semester. They both look like fun, interesting classes. Beau is taking one class. I started Dahlia's preschool work a few weeks ago. She is doing great and really enjoys it. We have art projects everyday and that's her favorite part. Darby is getting in even more teeth so she's been a little bit crabby lately. She is a silly little one who loves making us laugh. May 09 Dahlia's recitalDahlia did a great job. She had two dances and she went out and did her best. She hadn't been doing the dances at class but as soon as she was on the stage, she was ready to go. All the girls did better this year than last year. I can't wait to see next year's which I might be in. I've decided to take tap next year. I'm already excited. I've wanted to take tap since I can remember. May 02 Darby's first teethI noticed Sat. that Darby now has not one but two teeth sticking out. She had been chomping all week so I was checking everyday. Sat. my mom babysat her for a little while and when I got back she asked if I knew Darby had a tooth. When I got a chance to look, I saw that both bottom front teeth are sticking up. She'll have them all in before I know it. I'm going to miss her gummy smile. Of course, Dahlia's will start falling out in the next few years. |
